People who have a close family member in another European country will not be allowed to apply for relocation. The Asylum Service is checking people’s files to find such cases and switch them to family reunification. Relocation will in many cases be faster than family reunification but this is not a sensible reason to apply for it, as there are 20 countries now active in the relocation program and you could get any one of them. If you keep your family members a secret, you will obviously have no chance of being relocated to them. As soon as you finish applying for relocation in your first interview, you lose your right to family reunification. Your only alternative if you reject relocation will be asylum in Greece. For this reason, people are being switched to family reunification - to make sure they reach their family.
الأشخاص الذي لهم عائلة مباشرة في واحدة من الدول الاوروبية لن يسمح لهم بالتقديم على إعادة التوطين. يقوم مكتب خدمات اللاجئين حاليا بمراجعة ملفات هذه الحالات ويحولها إلى حالات لم شمل العائلة. بالرغم من أن إعادة التوطين، في معظم الحالات، تكون أسرع من لم الشمل، ولكن من غير المنطقي التقديم عليها حيث أن هناك 20 دولة مشاركة حاليا في برنامج إعادة التوطين وقد ينتهي بك الأمر في أي منها. إذا احتفظت بأفراد أسرتك سرا، لن تتاح لك فرصة إعادة التوطين معهم. بمجرد أن تقوم بالتقديم على إعادة التوطين في المقابلة الأولى، يسقط حقك في التقديم على لم شمل العائلة. البديل الوحيد المتاح أمامك إن رفضت إعادة التوطين سيكون اللجوء في اليونان. لهذا السبب يتم نقل الأوراق إلى لم الشمل: للتأكد من أن الأفراد سينضمون إلى عائلاتهم
