Important: don't miss your Asylum Service interview because of fingerprints

Volunteers around Athens are reporting that many people are missing their full registration interviews because they are worried about giving their fingerprints again. It's important to remember that if you've already been fingerprinted when you entered Greece, your prints are already in the system so it makes no difference. In addition, European countries have not been deporting people to Greece since 2011.

Lastly, even if that "deportation stop" ends in future, relocation and family reunification are processes that decide where your asylum claim will be decided on; those countries will not then send relocation and family reunification people back to Greece, as they will have a commitment to process them. Missing your interview means you will have to call on Skype and arrange a new one, which will be after March. Giving fingerprints a second time is not the problem! Missing your interview is.

‎لاحظ المتطوعون في أثينا أن كثيرين لا يحضروا لمقابلة التسجيل نتيجة القلق من أخذ البصمات مرة أخرى. لابد أن تتذكر أن بصمات قد أخذت عندما دخلت إلى اليونان اول مرة وبالتالي فهي موجودة بالفعل في السجلات فلا فارق. لم تقوم الدول الأوروبية بترحيل أحد إلى اليونان منذ عام 2011. وحتى لو توقفت عملية "لا ترحيلات" في المستقبل، لن تزال هناك إجراءات مثل لم شمل العائلة وإعادة التوطين والتي سيتقرر من خلالها أين يتم نقل ملف اللجوء الخاص بك: هذه الدول لن تقوم نقل حالات إعادة التوطين ولم الشمل إلى اليونان مرة أخرى فقد أصبحت ملزمة بحالات اللجوء الخاصة بهم. عدم حضور المقابلة يعني الاتصال عبر الاسكايب لتحديد موعد جديد، وسيكون هذا بعد شهر مارس/آزار القادم. أخذ البصمات مرة أخرى ليست مشكلة! ولكن عدم الذهاب للمقابلة هو المشكلة.
